What’s here?
The cosy cottage is full of character and charm… Rescued from ruin in 2002 (think, “Tree growing in the lounge”), it used to be the farm’s stables. It has now been sympathetically restored to full, snuggly life combining character and stonework with modern facilities and warmth.
- Spacious lounge with wood burning stove (seasoned wood provided from Trwyn Tal), TV, DVD
- Kitchen with dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, fridge freezer & microwave
- Downstairs shower room bathroom with toasty underfloor heating
- Utility room with washing machine and space for boots/rucsacs etc.
- Two bedrooms – a twin and a double (plus guest bed on request)
- Bathroom with roll top bath and funky blue downlighters
- Lawn below cottage with stunning views down the valley, picnic table, BBQ available on request
- 27 acres of semi-ancient natural woodland and pasture
- Mountain walks from the door if you love a stroll
- Mountain views all around if you love a gaze
- Your nearest pubs are Llanthony Priory & The Half Moon, both in Llanthony (10 minute drive)
- Hay-on-Wye, with its laid back book stores & cafes is a stunning 20 minute drive away
If you want to put your feet up and have a night off cooking, choose a meal from the tasty farmhouse menu, home cooked from local produce and delivered direct to your door.
If you’d like walking route tips, they’re freely available from your host, who has 20 years experience guiding in this valley.
If you’d like to chill out and help feed the sheep (or lambs!) they’re ridiculously friendly too. A couple are quite sure they’re supposed to be let in to watch TV.
If you’re looking for space for a larger group, please get in touch. As well as Trwyn Tal Cottage, there’s three guest rooms available in the main farmhouse at Trwyn Tal (total capacity 9 or 10 people using both cottage and farmhouse rooms). If your group is bigger than that, or Trwyn Tal isn’t quite what you’re looking for, please still get in touch and I can point you towards other lovely properties very nearby that are managed by Trwyn Tal’s lovely neighbours.
